MEET OUR MINISTRY TEAM
Rev. Andrew K. LeeWhat part of being a minister do you most enjoy?
"There are two things which give me great joy in my ministry. The foremost is to witness people being nurtured in the faith and moving closer to God. We all are taking a journey to God. I enjoy inviting and encouraging people to walk together. Accompany congregation members during moments of baptism and marriage gives me great satisfaction. A secondary factor is sharing my Asian heritage with the congregation, from food and customs to theology. I believe this unique approach makes our faith well rounded, allowing us to discover commonalities and uniqueness, while we learn from each other and constructively co-create the future." What passage from Scripture holds significant meaning for you? "My theological theme of ministry is to know Jesus through his life and works. The Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1-11) are a central interest." What other interests compliment your ministry? "I enjoy playing musical instruments, camping, mountain biking riding and fusion cooking. Ask me about my best dish - squash porridge." Rev. Bruce J. RoffeyGetting to know Rev. Bruce Roffey as more than a minister:
Rev. Bruce is husband to Gaylia, a father, and physicist (Yes we said physicist! He loves God and math!). Not only has Rev. Bruce been a long time resident of neighboring Richmond Hill but he might also have some Viking in him! Rev. Bruce's Call to Ministry: In 1975 while he was singing, Rev. Bruce (who was in graduate school at the time) felt the call to ministry. Explaining how he was called is not our story to tell, nor would we do it justice, but, if you would like to better get to know Rev. Bruce his story is nothing short of amazing. How does Rev. Bruce spend his spare time: When he isn’t pouring his time directly into ministry he enjoys travelling, meeting new people, and seeing new places. When it is safe to travel again he hopes to visit Newfoundland, Great Britain, and France. |
